though my browsing pattern hasn't changed but my laptop suddenly starts eating up my data. don't know if it due to system upgrade, or because I started buying SME share data.
the system can finish my 1gb within 1hr even if I'm not browsing, just be hot-spoting it.

it was not so before.
I have set it to metered, even reset the laptop to factory reset.
it's as if I should just smash this lapi but the days are hard.
what else can I do pls

I'm sure it's the upgrade, especially on Windows 10. Windows 7 is still the best to me in terms of data conservation.

It depends on the installation, I'll advice you take your laptop to a professional.
and please use original operating system!
