The Nile University of Nigeria said it will hold its annual Entrepreneurship Trade Fair -Africa (ETF-Africa) aimed at linking students and the business world.

The 2018 trade fair is slated to take place at the university campus next Thursday with the theme: ‘Bringing the gown and town together’.

Speaking during a press conference in Abuja, the Chairman, ETF 2018, Dr Gylych Jelilov said that the fair is aimed at improving the capacity of the student on practical skills’ development that would make them financially independent and self-reliant in the global market.
Jelilov said that the university is focused on teaching its students how to do business in private sector and in government and above all in the society.

He said, “Last year, 120 exhibitors participated, but this year, we will have 150 exhibitors. We encourage people to come and participate in this year’s trade fair.”

Some of the stands will be occupied by students and alumni while the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), University of Ilorin, Nasarawa state university will be there.

The event is expected to have exhibitions from auto-mobile, food, furniture companies, embassies among others just as the 4th International Conference on Social Sciences - Africa (ICSS) and the 4th International Students’ Conference on Social Sciences (ISCSS) will hold simultaneously.

The ICSS chairman, Prof Ibrahim Keles said it will serve as a platform for academics to discuss issues, share ideas and get solutions for problems.

He said they want the students to have practical leadership and capacity skills so that they can blend into the society with no need for additional training after they graduates.
