Dear Doctors,
I've a pressing question...
I know someone. He's quite bright. Right from the Primary School, he knew was meant to be in the sciences, although he sometimes dabbles in the Arts (and does surprisingly well, really). To show this guy's aptitude capability, he did amazingly well in last year's UTME, and blasted his choice university's exam, getting well above 75. He got his admission with ease.
But, he has a serious problem. He doesn't know what he wants to become. He even became a doctor upon his parents' advice. Now, as he's entering the University, he doesn't know what area he should specialise in. He needs advice.
These are his "characters": He's very nonchalant, has an attitude of "it's happened, let it go". He tries to make everyone happy, and even though he knows he can't do that, when he fails, he'll go into self-pity (and he hates to admit it). He's lazy, in general, and hates hard work, but I'm sure he could cope with the academic demands of school. When it comes to the emotional, he's completely messed up. He doesn't believe in love, and claims marriage is actually bondage. Can you believe he said "Family is just a name?!"
He does have his good side. Sometimes, he would just start giving his stuff, like money, to anyone available. He loves it when there is a seamless relationship between folks. Sometimes, when he sees total stranger in sadness, he'll go out of his way to help such a person (P.S. he has told me he regrets helping people, because they are human beings, they can never value it)
I decided to post this here because, as doctors, you can help this guy pick a specialisation. He, and I, would be very grateful if y'all can assist him. I'm very grateful you took your time to read this.
Thank you.

Area of specialisation?

If like you say he has completed medical school his housemanship will be a good time to settle down and decide on where to major in

Which specialty or department do you see yourself doing in future.

Your guy mustn't be a physician. He could be wasting his time in trying to be a physician when he could be the greatest Physicist or Chemist of all time. Most of the world's most intelligent chaps are not even physicians. However, let him acquire his MBBS first before he talks of specialization. through school, he will know his strengths and where he can specialize. first things first.
