A phone explosion has left a young girl dead.

Reports have it that the girl, an 18-year-old identified as Uma Oram from India, was talking on the phone when it exploded. Oram was said to have had the phone plugged in charging while she made a call. She was reportedly speaking to a relative when the tragedy happened at her home.

Her brother who spoke to newsmen said she was talking to an unnamed family member after lunch when she discovered the phone was low on battery.

‘The cell phone… was put on charging when she started talking to a relative.

‘Before we could know what exactly happened, Uma fell unconscious. She was declared dead at the hospital.’
