Nollywood Goes Global, Partners With Hollywood To Showcase Nigerian Movies by BlackPenNG: 11:27am On Mar 22, 2018
So far, it's the biggest (and might be for the rest of the year) news as regarding Nigeria's movie industry, Nollywood. Nollywood in a latest development has secured a partnership deal with Hollywood, which they chose to call Nollywood in Hollywood. Fascinating right?

Now, this is all it's about. Three movies namely, 93 days, The Bridge and Isoken will showcase in Hollywood cinemas, starting from Friday.

It's an unprecedented move to showcase a handful of African movies on the world stage in Hollywood. Nigeria was lucky to join a team with other six countries from around the world, and would be showing forth the best of African (indigenous movies relative to the other countries) movies on the world stage. This shouldn't come as too much surprise, even now, we have a black superhero ranking over the likes of Iron man (Black Panther).

The inaugural Nollywood in Hollywood event will kick start with the feature of "93 days" at the world famous Egyptian cinema right in the heart of Hollywood. If you are planning to be there, red carpet is friday night, not Saturday's dawn(No african time)

Top industry officials in Hollywood are set to grace the event, alongside various Nigerians in Hollywood. Kunle Afolayan, Steve Gukas and Dakore Akande are Nollywood Ambassadors on a mission to the showcase, "Make Africa Proud".

The screening showcase will be hosted by top officials in Hollywood and presented by Grauman Egyptian theatre, school of cinematic arts (University of southern cakifornia), and O2A media inc.

Kunle Afolayan posted a video relating to the event on social media and it sure did went viral.

But, a disheartning issue is that despite the importance and opportunities imbued in the showcase for the Nigeria Film Industry in the international market, the Federal Ministry of Culture didn't do as much as to even turn a bkind eye, also the Nigerian Embassy. They both did nothing to support the showcase, but thanks to air france that came in handy to fly the actors and film makers over.

Nigeria's problem is at all time high, and onku Hod can save us.

Nevertheless, thanks to Black Panther that had given value to Africa on the world stage, he is really Africas Super Hero. The low self esteem is finally wanning.
