Eight-time winner, Serena Williams continues to live in the shadow of herself, she was knocked out at the first round of the Miami Open by Japan’s sensation Naomi Osaka by 6-3,6-2.

The 23-time Grand Slam winner who was unseeded after taking 13 months off to have her first child was beaten by current Indian Wells champion, Naomi Osaka.

The American lost serve twice in each set and was unable to break back.

Osaka who was unseeded claimed her maiden title after her winning at the just concluded Indian Wells to move up to 22 in the world.
