Having trouble understanding and remembering what you study?

Not to worry here in schoolvibesng we got you covered because we are about to start a new series on techniques that will help you study more efficiently. We will be beginning this series with the Feynman Technique,But first let us see a few things about the man behind the technique: Richard Phillips Feynman.
Richard Phillips Feynman May 11, 1918 – February 15, 1988 was an American theoretical physicist known for his work in the path integral formulation of quantum mechanics, the theory of quantum electrodynamics, and the physics of the superfluidity of supercooled liquid helium, as well as in particle physics for which he proposed the parton model. For his contributions to the development of quantum electrodynamics, Feynman, jointly with Julian Schwinger and Shin'ichirō Tomonaga, received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1965.

Feynman developed a widely used pictorial representation scheme for the mathematical expressions governing the behavior of subatomic particles, which later became known as Feynman diagrams. During his lifetime, Feynman became one of the best-known scientists in the world. In a 1999 poll of 130 leading physicists worldwide by the British journal Physics World he was ranked as one of the ten greatest physicists of all time.

He assisted in the development of the atomic bomb during World War II and became known to a wide public in the 1980s as a member of the Rogers Commission, the panel that investigated the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster. Feynman has been credited with pioneering the field of quantum computing and introducing the concept of nanotechnology,Along with his work in theoretical physics. He held the Richard C. Tolman professorship in theoretical physics at the California Institute of Technology.(Source Wikipedia.org)
He tells a story of going into the mathematics department and challenging anyone there to explain to him any idea,no matter how difficult or complicated, and as long as they used simple terminology (no complicated words or terms he didn’t understand), he would reach the same conclusions that they did.
He was said to be a great genius but in reality anyone can do this technique.

Now what is the Feynman Technique?

The Feynman Technique is a Mental Model named after Richard Feynman, a Nobel Prize Winning Physicist. the technique is designed to help you learn pretty much learn anything - so understand concepts you don't really get, remember stuff you have already learnt, or study more efficiently.
It is a technique to learn complex concepts in record time, retain knowledge, and study more efficiently.
It is a really efficient way of studying before an exam. Many students spend hours in the library to lousy results. You can use this technique to deeply understand an idea in 20 minutes, that will stick with you for years.
“The person who says he knows what he thinks but cannot express it usually does not know what he thinks.”
— Mortimer Adler

The Feynman Technique

There are four steps to the Feynman Technique.
1. Choose the concept you want to learn down on a piece of paper.
2. After studying explain the concept to yourself in your own words ( Keep it as simple as possible )
3. Identify gaps in your explanation, go back and study the concept again.
4. Share your explanation with your course mate. (Optional).

Feel free to leave your comment on what you don't understand or any technique(s) that can also be useful, Thank you.

Try and read the part two and you will see that it is not cramming...
