The Reflection Of The Emerging Roles Of Nigerian Youths To Build A Virile Nation by neyo4africa(m): 11:27am On Mar 26, 2018
The hierarchy of leadership in Nigeria is dominated and governed by old men in politics, who believe that building a virile nation depends on age, methodological procedures and formats long used by political founders and fathers. Thereby, neglecting the responsibilities and terminating the chances of the youth in the society. Thus, failed to realise that building a nation has to do with mind, and not age. According to Alfie Kohn, he said; "Students should not only be trained to live in democracy when they grow up; they should have the chance to live in one today".

This, in other way, has hindered the Nigerian youth from participating in governmental parastatals, and shattered their hopes in the cliché---youths are the leaders of tomorrow.

It is very paramount to know, that the philosophy behind a virile nation is associated with virile youth; for youth are the emblems of change, through creativity, dynamism, innovation, initiative, liberation, character, jingoism, patriotic power and developmental orientation. Also, the profundity of a nation is determined by the involvement of the youth, their enthusiasm and vigorous exercises to get things done reasonably with the quality of imagination.

However, youth determine the movement of an era, the transformation and growth of a particular country. Therefore, any country that deprives the youth of their rights and responsibilities is on the voyage of devastation.
Many a country has drastically improved in the welcomeness of youth's policies; countries like Canada, France, United States of America, England and some other prosperous countries have youths as members of their parliament who also contribute effectively to the political manners of the nation. Including some African countries, like Ghana, whose youths emerged enthusiastically to vandalise ridiculous constitution alongside their nefarious law-makers in other to create a positive change.

Nevertheless, Nigerian youth should act as agents of change and transformative forces, who must contribute more than a bit to decision-making and implementation of policies at the governmental levels. They must be in togetherness to fight the corruption demoralising the national development. Not only that, they must shun brown envelopes, participate in all matters of the nation with prompt diplomacy and resist all forms of unpatriotic persuasion that may tend to keep their heads low in political trends. They must emerge thoughtfully, draw up developmental programmes and prolific agitations that will sever the barriers and tactics of the aged politicians.

To sum it up, Nigerian youth should see themselves as torch-bearers, the building blocks and the architects of a fruitful future. Irrespective of how the government denies them a worthy platform to airily exhibit their creative-mindedness; wrecks educational curriculums, job opportunities, provision of employment and adequate infrastructures in institution of learning which could properly enhance their skills and potentials in building a virile nation. They should stay focus and determine to positively begin an exercise of change with bravery over timidity. Only then, will their creative notions and positive motions proliferate a virility in the nation.
