Sometimes, the solution to an age-long problem could be the application of common sense.

Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode – the Governor of Lagos state – is demonstrating that theory with the large scale integration of slip-roads and lay-bys on Lagos roads.

It goes without say – Lagos state is supremely notorious for traffic gridlocks.

Unending traffic bottlenecks is one problem that has plagued the state for as long as majority of its residents can remember.

With the exploding population in Lagos, it never looked like that the traffic gridlock challenge would be one that can be surmounted.

However, the recent integration of slip-roads and lay-bys at some notorious bus stops by the Ambode administration is demonstrating that a solution has always been with us.

Some locations that were hitherto notorious for traffic gridlocks are today now experiencing free flow of traffic due to the application of strategic thinking by the current administration in Lagos state.

For instance, the recently constructed lay-bys and slip roads at Berger Bus stop, Iyana-Iworo Bus stop, Ketu-Alapere Bus stop, Ogudu Bus stop, etc now ensure a free flow of traffic in those once infamous locations.

Interestingly, these solutions have always been starring at us all the while.

Indeed, with common sense – the current administration in Lagos state is bringing sighs of relief to Lagosians.

Clearly, Ambode is not joking at these once notorious bus stops.

@AutoJoshNIG: You are right. The same thing he did at the Lekki-Ajah axis when he got rid of those huge roundabouts and freed up a lot of space for road users. Kudos to A+

Good one, meanwhile Rivers state governor Wike should get rid of those hideous round abouts on trans Amadi road and the one at garrison bus stop. One can't enjoy a smooth ride on smooth road again

Ambode is messing up big time. All these online branding/PR will not help at all. Just go to Iyana-Ipaja, Oshodi and Agege side and see for yourself.

Busy constructing BRT lane on Lagos-Abeokuta road without expanding the road....Where is the common sense in that?

Working on Lagos-Abeokuta expressway and Agege road at the same time without any reasonable alternative, where is the common sense in that?

Leaving the whole mainland littered with death as result of transition from a working waste management arrangement to a bogus arrangee waste management company; where is the common sense in that?

Ambode started well, but has lost it towards the end of last year.

How does this relate to Ambode's construction of lay-bys? Go home. You're drunk!!!
Tracypacy:
Seems like I'm gonna need a Zidane exposing thread very soon to put this overhyped bum back in his place

First of all Zidane spent 10 years of his career at top top clubs, 5 at Juve (the best club in Italy) & 5 at Madrid, yeah when he played with R9, Raul, Beckham, Cannavaro, etc. how many league titles has he won in those 10 years? 3. yes you read that right, THREE. Now I'm gonna have to address the myth that Zidane 'carried France in 1998 WC' yes, we might agree he was mainman for them but carried? in a squad that contains Vieira, Blanc, Deschamps, Desailly, Pires, Thierry fucking Henry, Thuram, Petit, etc? you've got to be kidding me here. Shall we take a look at his CL trophies now? surely someone who's spent 10 years between Juve/Madrid with such squads must've won it at least 3/4 times? oops, 1 CL title.

What now? 2006 WC? that tournament he's spoken of as a POTT after getting 5 pts out of a group with Switzerland, Togo & South Korea then having a single masterclass against Brazil before letting his whole country down in the final with that childish head-butt at the big age of 34?
Now let's bring the actual greatest midfielder ever in comparison shall we? Iniesta has won 2 trebles compared to Zidane's 0, 9 league titles to ZZ's 3, 4 CLs to ZZ's 1 and 2 Euro's to Zidane's 1 while they've both won the WC once with Iniesta having one more chance next June. Time to compare his 5 years at Juve with the 5 years after to see how he carried the team and how they were affected by his departure? well Juve won 4 Scudettos in 5 years after he left and even had Balon d'Or winner in Nedved compared to 2 in 5 during his time, oops again

At the end here's a world class article on why Zidane was an overrated bum in details by some unsung hero, make sure to give it a read
