Is Zenvus The New Hope For African Farmers? by VcStunner(m): 1:41pm On Mar 27, 2018
A lot of noise about mechanized agriculture in Nigeria/ Africa and yet no solution to our national food shortages and the continental hunger strike. So I am thinking it’s either the weather man is very incompetent or the “rain maker “is quite unpredictable. But one thing remains certain, for every farming season in the country, there is always an avoidable disaster that aims at reaping us off of expected bountiful harvest. We have heard about flooding, “tomato Ebola” and so on. Tell you what; all of these happened because we lacked a unique solution to our own unique problems until ZENVUS happened on us. Wait, what?
Yes, Zenvus is a unique Agri-tech solution developed by a Nigerian firm FASMICRO LTD owned by Ndubuisi Ekekwe , a former Electrical Electronics Engineering graduate of FUTO. They choose to call it a smart-farm hardware. These gadget is designed to help farmers get important information in real time and go on to remove guess work out of farming. In other words, farmers can now solve problems even before they arise, making them more profitable and productive.
Zenvus will give you the following information:
· Humidity
· Light
· Temperature
· Nutrients
· PH. Etc.
All this information are sent to the cloud server and farm web application. All you need do is to log in to the web app through your mobile device or computer and all the information about your farm is up for grabs.
Farming in Remote Areas:
There has been questions about those farms in the very remote areas where GSM networks may not get to, the good news is that Zenvus was also made to work with GSM, WIFI, and Satelite networks, and because of satelite global coverage, you will be just fine in any corner of your farm. An SD card is also available for those farmers who would prefer to manually download the data without spending much on mobile credit.
The announcement on the Zenvus website suggests that a certain type of camera is planned to join the party soon. This camera according to the source will help detect crop disease, pest, drought, stress etc. And these are just the tips of the ice berg.
The Zenvus app has gone further to simplify the jobs of the Agric economists and extension workers if they would decide to work smarter. The app offers more features such as
· Zenvus crowd funding (Z-capital)
· Zenvus Insurance (Z-insure)
· Zenvus Price (Z-price)
· Zenvus Manager (Z-manager)
· Zenvus Markets (Z-market).
gGreen Tech Nigeria wishes to openly express support for the multiple international award winning innovation and invention such as Zenvus.
we will continue to track and monitor it's success and bring you reviews as they unfold.
