Apologies for not putting this topic up since sunday but by now, you should be in a hurry to accomplish the tasks that need to be done before this weeks runs out.

Alright. Have you heard about Voluntary Asset and Income Declaration Scheme (VAIDS) which the government set up to allow companies and individuals that have not been paying their tax do so without the normal penalties. More like an amnesty period set up so that they can become regular and consistent tax payers. Trust nigerians, many are yet to utilize this free window and guess what? it ends this week (March 31st, 2018).

This is where you come in. As an auditor, you just need to go around to all thos LTD or just Business Name companies all around you and walk up to them, tell them about the VAIDS program and what could happen should they miss this opportunity e.g the penalty gets resumed, (remind them that CAC has the right to revoke their company-ship and that could mean their company bank account could get closed) e.t.c. Do not ask for too much as these are people that do not even want to pay tax in the first place.

Have a team of friends at hand that you can subcommission the jobs to just in case you get too many clients all at once.

Remember, this need not be only a one-off job as you can be kept on retainership if you are seen as 'their guy'.

For more and early info on tips such as this, remember to follow me on nairaland.

Wishing you well - Teemy
