1. Financial Assistant

Details:

Our Client is one of the largest Internet companies in West Africa with offices in Lagos, London, New York and Johannesburg. They are a well-funded, Venture Capital backed internet business. They now have openings for Financial Assistant in Lagos.

Job Summary

The financial assistant will report directly to, and work closely with the Revenue Assurance Manager on all aspects of finance for the Lagos sales teams. The role will also work closely with the finance team, the telesales team and other colleagues in our Lagos office. This is an exciting opportunity to gain excellent financial exposure in an up and coming energetic business located in Lagos. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Tracking payments and deposits made by the sales teams with timely confirmation
• Ongoing reconciliation of bank statements throughout the month and timely reconciliation for month end
• Keeping and maintaining petty cash
• Ensuring month end deadlines for accruals, prepayments and ledger maintenance are met
• Processing purchase invoices and expenses in the accounting system
• Raising invoices on a timely basis
• Reviewing invoices and investigating old unapproved invoices
• Forming excellent working relationships with colleagues across the organisation
• Any other administrative duties delegated by the Revenue Assurance Manager, or Head of Finance.

PREFERABLE

• B.Sc. or HND in Accounting / Finance
• Student Member of Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (Professional).

ESSENTIAL

• Advanced MS Excel skills (creating spreadsheets and using financial functions)
• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Sage)
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to priorities multiple tasks in a busy, deadline-driven environment
• An energetic can-do attitude
• Willingness and ability to take on tasks within wider finance team as required
• Flexibility in adapting to different cultures
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information
• Attention to detail, with an ability to spot numerical errors

2. Accountant

Details:

Our client is one of the leading power solution company in Nigeria with 23 branches in 8 countries in Africa, Middle East and Asia. The company currently employs over 1500 staff globally. The company specializes in the Electro-Mechanical, technical and sales of power solutions and services. They now have an opening for an Accountant in Port Harcourt.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Make entries for all payments by monitoring and controlling entries done by the Cashier for collections, and all purchases’ entries and postings on the accounting system (Purchase and journal entries).
• Corrects errors by posting adjusting journal entries.
• Costing for foreign purchased / imported items, and reporting them, to better control the payments in due dates, and raise any discrepancies
• Prepare bank reconciliation reports by issuing, reviewing and annotating the reports as well as bank incoming transfers and L/C settlements, in order to submit to the Audit department for review and processing action.
• Reconciles general and subsidiary bank accounts by gathering and balancing information.
• Maintains accounting controls by following policies and procedures; complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
• Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of a B.Sc or HND in Accounting or any related field.
• Minimum of 2 years working experience.
• Excellent general math skills.
