The Barcelona superstar sat out a meeting with Italy and a 6-1 defeat to Spain during the international break with a hamstring complaint

Lionel Messi may be nursing a niggling hamstring problem, but Argentina legend Hugo Gatti claims Cristiano Ronaldo would have played through the pain.

Barcelona’s superstar forward sat out both of his nation’s fixtures during the international break, playing no part in a 2-0 victory over Italy or a 6-1 defeat to Spain.

Jorge Sampaoli admitted that his side had been “slapped” during a forgettable night in Madrid , with Messi forced to watch on from the stands at Wanda Metropolitano before leaving the contest early.

The Guy iyaff become too arrogant. Well who can blame him? He's outworldly good and has Eufa and Fifa as his pals. Heard he now chooses who is to be called up by the national team.

Of what use is the friendly if Messi plays and aggravates the injury so badly that he ends up missing the world cup that is more important?!

Sometimes one needs to look at the bigger picture instead of making emotional outbursts.

Not sure how you guys think... It's a friendly match and he knows how he feel. Will he say he is having injury when he is not? Even if he doesn't have injury, how many games has he missed all seasons? Guess you think he is a clock and sure don't know what fatigue is.

Dude is having three important competition to play for and he will risk himself cos of friendly match so the injury can escalate and be out for months?

You heard he decide who to be called? Guess the person that told you is Argentina assistant coach? Same rumour they gave about Icardi in Argentina and Gomes in Barcelona. You people just talk crap.
