This tactics has been around for ages. The robbers will place a polythene bag packed with nails on the road and hide nearby. Any car that drives on the polythene bag will have a tyre puncture immediately and as the it stops the robbers will emerge from nowhere. So when driving (especially at night) make sure your tyres don't drive on any plastic bag or any object on the road.

It is not only polythene bags. It could come in different forms like using Orange. These oranges are inserted with all kinds of sharp objects like nails and thrown in the track of unsuspecting drivers. Nobody will ever think that stepping on an orange will pose a grave danger to their driving.

Guys be extra careful when driving, the armed robbers are using nails covered in a black polyethylene bag. They place or throw it, in a very smart way around the street corners (where you have already parked your car) or on the highway (where you are already driving fast). They will then hide around and wait for the unlucky driver to pass on it.They will follow the driver with a motorbike and quickly attack him/her at a gun point and rob him/her of his/her valuables, immediately he/she finally stops to check the condition of his/her car tire.
