Conceived as a simmering dream. Smeared with jam or salad cream. With my grandmother refusing to die; Praying and hoping as time goes by.
The child in the womb's anxious to come. Chewing and grinding his vulnerable gum, Wondering what an Eldorado it'll be. And oblivious of technology's jeopardy.
When will the shift be thrown on technologists, And not some theory-based strategists? No wonder, we can't design a common stethoscope. Or even less- export a quality bar of soap.
So, until we sow the technological seed, And nurture it without greed, The 202020 proposed vision, Is, and will always remain an illusion.

Not 'we'. Some of you dreamed it.

I was old enough when Abacha launched his Vision 2010. Once he died in 98, that document was thrown into the dustbin.

Then I watched and witnessed unserious and incompetent leadership assail us. They brought Vision 202020, I knew that it was a tall dream and can never be achieved due to our unseriousness as a nation. Nigeria will not achieve anything in the next two to three decades if we continue on this trajectory that we are on.

And the damages done to the institutions and every sector of this country in the past two years and some months, will take decades to repair if we start now. And if we don't take care, in the next ten years, the poverty rate in the country will be something else.
