5 Things We Learned From Real Madrid Vs Juventus Match [VIDEO] by worlings: 9:47am On Apr 12, 2018
On Wednesday the 11th of march, the last match of the quarter final round in the Champions League was decided in the Bernabeu. The game between Los Blancos of Spain vs the Old Lady of Italy ended in a dramatic way and left a lots of football loving fans talking.

Real Madrid went into the match with a 3 – 0, leading advantage, having beaten Juventus in Turin with Ronaldo scoring a fantastic overhead kick. But, things got different in Spain as the Old Lady side was in an unstoppable mission to oust Madrid

Moreover, the Agog team gathered some thoughts about the game, and the following are the 5 things we learn from the match that started peacefully but ended in chaos.

Juventus was a better side than Madrid, they outplayed Los Blancos in the fist half and were unlucky not to have had 2 goals leading advantage in that half as Higuain missed a one on one chance.

From the defence, to midfield to attack, the Old Lady had tremendous composure, the type that stopped Madrid from dominating the game, and each time they had an opportunity to score, it wasn’t a struggle for them to put the ball at the back of the net.

After cancelling the 3 – 0 advantage in Bernabeu, at about 92 minutes, a penalty was conceded. This has been the main subject of the discussion as football enthusiast took to Twitter to share their thoughts over Michael Oliver’s decision. Some people argued that it was a penalty, others said it wasn’t, but, the guys in between said that it was a penalty but the referee could have ignored it. From our view of the foul, by it was a clear penalty. Additionally, it was a red cad tackle too, because Vazquezwas already goal bound, thanks to Ronaldo who jumped so high to nod the ball towards the running in Vazquez that had a bigger opportunity to score.

At the point of awarding the spot kick because of the clumsy tackle by Benatia on Vazquez, Gigi Buffon, the veteran Italian goal keeper who could not control his emotions by a way of protesting against the referee’s decision was sent off. This is his first red card after 117 games, probably his last for the Champions league.
Ronaldo stepped in and converted the spot kick against Wojciech Szczesny who came in to replace Buffon to give Madrid the leading advantage again to oust Juventus. At this time, the remaining added time was not enough for the old lady to do anything meaningful in redeeming themselves.
On the flip side, we comment the effort of the Italian side as they fought like warriors and gave Madrid a good run for their money. We also presume, that if the match could run into penalties, maybe Buffon would have turned the hero for the night by stopping many Madrid spot kicks as the goal stopper of Madrid made horrendous mistake in the second half to hand Juventus the third goal and almost throughout the match, had a poor outing for himself.

Watch below the video of the tackle on Vazquez by Medhi Benatia that decided the fate of the match.
