On Thursday the 19th of April 2018, the Students’ Union of Akwa Ibom State University brought together the entire university community for a time of prayer in what was aptly tagged '2018 Solemn Assembly'. The event which was held in the University auditorium was anchored by the Ministry of Repentance and Holiness.

Declaring the event open, the Vice Chancellor, who was represented the by the Registrar of the University – Mr. John Udo, outlined the place of Prayer in the life of any Christian or group of persons.
