I got inspired by her first thread in 2015 after losing my job.

I had all the requirements then, including the writing skill, so I started my freelance career immediately on freelancer.com (the platform she introduced). I didn't make kobo from the platform, but I stuck with the process because her story and that of other freelancers were inspiring enough for me.

All the while I was following other threads to see if I can find other opportunities.

Then, someone else created Upwork thread. I jumped to Upwork but Upwork did not work for me.

In order to keep body and soul together, I was busy writing for some gurus here on NL until God smile on me through Fiverr in 2016 after over year of opening the account. As they say, the rest is history.

Over all, it has not been easy. You just have to be persistent and keep learning new things. Even now, I'm still struggling, but I have chosen this path, no going back...

I don't write articles or copywriting for businesses. I write short stories and novels so the journey has not been easy, but I will keep going.

It depends on your agreement with clients. What I do is to issue an invoice on Payoneer at the end of the month. I work for my clients on monthly basis. That is one thing with LinkedIn. Most clients will want to work with you on regular basis. It is not a one-off project. I calculate the number of posts x the price and I raise an invoice for it the end of the month. You can also create an invoice on Freelancer and send to your client. Most clients on LinkedIn are trustworthy. But If you know you cannot wait until the end of the month, you can charge per article.

Please, I have a question to ask concerning the portfolio. Many blogs about freelance writing recommends that you do two or three guest posts on various blog with a byline to your credit. The issue here is I'm in a bit of a hurry to get clients ASAP. So, I have two well written articles. Do you recommend I publishe them on say LinkedIn, medium or I published them in online portfolio clips that way you recommended in your post
Note that I'm looking to get clients even before this week runs out is that's possible.
