I'm not against the fixing or paint job. What I'm against is the fact that he didn't provide the VIN for prospective buyers to make their findings.

No. I would not have known, but since someone went through the trouble to provide that information, I can now appreciate the effort put into the repairs.

It behoves the buyer to make proper checks before paying for any used vehicle.

I don tire to type so I go just copy and paste the previous explanation from another thread;

@greyham in case you haven't noticed yet, we watch each others back here on Nairaland, due to the evil practice of deception and greed being exhibited by most car dealers here. Which are being exposed by the "demeanors" and in order to improve consciousness and sanitize the auto section we are taking it upon ourselves to create awareness for FULL DISCLOSURE whereby we kindly request for the vin for scrutiny to prevent wicked practices.
If you know you do not sell such evil vehicles as we do not trust that dealers would actually inform those naïve and ignorant ones that patronize them of the true state/status of the car especially if the air bags were deployed and were not replaced accordingly. The love for extraordinary gains usually overwhelms most dealers conscience that they don't care that such people could end up dying in an auto crash due to non-deployment of a non-existing air bag, as the buyer assumed that the air bag were available since they bought a clean and non-accidented vehicle as advertised.
In-directly most car dealers are responsible for a lot of peoples death and serious injuries in Nigeria due to wickedness by NOT giving FULL DISCLOSURE of vehicle for sale. I rest "our" case here if you now understand.

Also remember that there are millions of car buyers who are not aware of vin checks etc, outside of Nairaland and otherwise, including even some here that don't know what VIN means.
What if the buyer was a close and dear relative or best friend of yours and happened to die due to ignorance and maybe no air-bag available. What would you say then, shebi you go say na village people abi?
