Writing a laboratory report could be requiring; as one needs to make it simple. Simplicity is the template for writing a lab report. Presentation is a major feature of successful business tycoon. As a matter of fact, presentation is also germane when it comes to writing of lab work. Features of lab report 1. Simplicity: this can't be overemphasized. Your report must be clear and simple. 2. Easy to understand Lab reports are to help the reader/ researchers understand the purpose the experiment and the result. It is also used for research purposes. If you are given a format to use by your instructor or supervisor; then use it for better examination. But if you were not given, you can use the below format. Understanding what each feature is to contain matters a lot and makes it explicit. Features 1. Experiment number 2. Title: This should contain the title of your experiment. for example, if you're testing for the presence of chlorophyll in leaves; your title could be TEST FOR CHLOROPHYII In a standard settings, some may require a title page. 3. AIM: This explains the purpose of carrying out the experiment. 4. APPARATUS These are the things used to perform the experiment. The lab equipment, and many more. For example, Bunsen burner, retort stand, conical flask. 5. REAGENT These are the chemicals used in the experiment. For example NaOH, NaCL, water, Alcohol, e.t.c. This spot could be empty depending on the subject. 6. THEORY This gives short explanation on the subject. This helps readers who know nothing about that subject to have a clear picture of what you are doing. 7. PROCEDURE This should show how the experiment is being performed. 8.OBSERVATION: what you discovered during the course of the experiment. 9. RESULT 10. PRECAUTION It entails the safety rules you put into action while performing the experiment and other measures taken in order to obtain the result. 11. CONCLUSION This is where you make your final decision and also entails a brief summary of the experiment. Figures and Graphs References This should contain the research materials you consulted.
