Seats are the chairs that passengers in a car sit on.

They can be wrapped in leather, fabric, alcantara, suede, fur etc and structured with aluminium, carbon fibre etc
Some Cars have Bench Seats in Front
Bucket seats are designed to sit just one person while bench seats are designed to sit 2 or more people.
Most cars have bucket seats in front and bench seats at the rear but there can be exceptions.
Some cars such as Porsche Panamera, Aston Martin Rapide etc and an increasing number of “Executive” trims in cars have bucket seats at the rear as well.
Front seats are known to have adjustments for getting the driver closer to or away from the steering and pedals as well as adjustments to raise or lower the driver’s height or simply adjustable to get the passenger comfortable. The adjustments can be done manually or automatically.
In some vehicles, you cannot get the seats close to or away from the steering and pedals, instead the steering and pedals are the ones that would be adjusted towards or away from the driver.
Car seats provide lumbar support, some have further adjustable lumbar supports.
*Lumbar is the region between the diaphragm and the pelvis (simply put,the lower back), this region supports the weight of the body and provides flexibility to the spine.
Most car seats have bolsters. These are side supports in the upper and lower seats that cushion and hold you in the seat as the vehicle travels around.
Some bucket seats have side bolsters that can be adjusted to “hug” you more firmly in the seats. Some bolsters are adaptive and move automatically to hold you in place while the vehicle is in motion.
Some cars offer reclining (common in front but available in some rear seats), massaging, heating and ventilated seats.
*All adjustments to the car seats can be done manually or automatically.
Some cars have memory seats that can “memorize” a seating position setting stored by a driver which can be activated by the push of a button selecting the number set for it.
The rear seats of some cars can be folded by the push or pull of a button, lever, rope etc to provide more cargo space.
Most seats have head and arm rests that provide support for the head and arms, the headrest also doubles as a safety feature that protects the occupant from injuries that can be sustained to the neck especially from rear end collisions such as whiplash.
Some headrests have extra padding for comfort.
The car maker’s name or logo can be embedded in the headrest.
The armrests can be built into the doors, fixed on a swivel in the seat, part of the centre console etc and some can be adjusted.
Armrests are also found in the rear seats of vehicles and can be pulled down on demand or permanently located at the centre in the rear.‎
