How Can I Approach This Matter ? Pls by Nobody: 10:58am On May 11, 2018
I moved to a new house recently.
Probably due to the good light and the developed area the house was.
I quickly opted to pay.
I paid first and was allocated the self con even tho we were like 4 guys on it.

Now the situation is.
After spending just few days.I started flowing with the housemates.
I got into conversation with a lady which led to us talking about amount paid .
she said she paid 130k
while I paid 150k for the house..

20k difference might seem small but the feeling is just like being scammed.

I have been told to forget about the money but I will still like to approach the man on this.
but literally I v no idea on how to and get my money back..

Fear of being evicted is part of it.

How can I approach this man pls?

First of, she negotiated with the agent better so its your fault because agency fees are negotiable.

The only thing fixed is the rent.

If this apartment is in Lagos, then I'd say the rent is around 100k. The agent charged you 20k, agency, 20k agreement & 10k caution fees makin' 150k.

The 130k lady must have insisted on 10k (10%) each (which is the legal requirement of an estate agent).

My friend, you can't get that money back. That's the simple truth. The agent never forced you to pay at gunpoint.

How To approach this matter?

Trek, bend left. On the right, take keke, then come down.

You go see the matter, be courteous, greet it.

Enjoy.

Thank you.
What I don't understand is others paid the same amount too.
so this made it seem like cheating.
I have forgotten about it tho,I will see to it when house rent is about being due.

As painful as this sounds, the truth is you have to pay the next rent fully.

The agency fee has nothin' to do with the rent.

Your problem lies with the agent & not the landlord. Agency fee is the agent's payment for his services while rent goes to the landlord. Agency fees can be owed sef but not rent.

If you tamper with it, na there trouble go start o.

Agents can be changed but landlord na landlord o.
