An Ijesa Monarch HRM Oba Moses Olufemi Agunsoye the Elegboro of Ijebu-jesa has called on relevant government agencies to partner with Good Leadership Promotion Network as the NGO held its first edition of "Cast the Vote, Shun the Violence" Rallies and Symposia. The event was done in conjunction with Oba Moses Olufemi Agunsoye and in partnership with Nigeria Police Osun State Command, INEC Osun State Headquarters, the Anglican Diocese of Ijesa North, youths groups, students' groups, Market women's associations, and other groups interested in the peaceful conducts of the fast approaching elections.

For three days,peeace advocates, drawn from youths' and students' groups went to towns, villages, and hamlets in Oriade and Obokun Local Government Areas. They met with over 10,000 people that they encouraged to shun violence,not only as a build up to the upcoming elections but also to shun violence and malpractice in its entirety. The coordinator of the group, Mr. Olaniyi Odina led other members to radio stations in Osun to reach out to a large number of people.

The symposium held on Thursday the 10th of May,2018 in the Ijebu-jesa town hall(despite rain,saw a very impressive turn out as people turned out in great numbers to attend the symposium. This shows the high expectations of the people on the upcoming elections.

The Representative of the INEC REC, Mr. Stephen Ojewande (Head of Voters Education) was received by HRM Oba Moses Olufemi Agunsoye the Elegboro of Ijebu-jesa at his palace. During their discussions, Oba Agunsoye made a passionate appeal for the creation of more polling units in the town, he thanked INEC for their preparations and asked for continuous support for Good Leadership Promotion Network. He advised the group to synchronize with National Orientation Agency, NSCDC, DSS, and other agencies and lNGOs.He maintained that peace before, during, and long after elections is the collective duty of all.

On his part Mr. Stephen Ojewande, promised that the commission will continue with its partnership with the NGO, with the aim of developing a robust relationship that will lead to violence-free elections.

The high point of the event was the symposium that was attended by a large number of people. During the event speakers made it a point of duty to ensure that the importance of violence- free elections are emphasised repeatedly. The INEC REC hinged his discussions on the legal implications of electoral malpractices. The Anglican Bishop of Ijesa North Anglican Diocese represented by Venerable AA Fatokun discussed violence and malpractice from a religious point of view.Respondents at the event thanked the organizers of the event for the enlightenment they have received.

They will never call for a referendum directly....But will indirectly seek for good leadership promotion network...Even when they'd never been satisfied with the leadership patterns of the northerners who sees governance as its birthrights!!!
