Investment is a game of figures and one of such daring figures is the size of the food market of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho (LAUTECH).
An average monthly buying power of students on food in this school is put at five thousand naira(5,000). This figure was based on random sampling of opinions of different students of the school. Also a conservative statistics of the student population was put at thirty thousand(30,000).

Basic mathematics put the food market revenue from the student alone at one hundred and fifty million naira monthly(150,000,000). Observing the facts that the student will go on break for almost three months in the year then the annual revenue will be one billion, three hundred and fifty million naira(1,350,000,000).

This is massive for a remote town like ogbomosho considering the fact that this figure exclude the indigenes  which national population commission put their population at over five hundred thousand.

Basic innovation of giving the people a better shopping experience (not necessarily luxury environment) will sway the people here as they also believe a better experience is not the exclusive right of those in Lagos.

Definitely I will talk about a major concern of any investor into food retailing especially in a student environment which is labour strike actions. Any retail investment in this axis should have a back up outlet in major sales hub outside the school environment to absorb whatever goods that cannot be sold in the student community.

It is worthy to also note that Ogbomosho is also a major hub for cashew trading in Africa and a major trade route in Nigeria connecting the North to the West. It will be a valid idea to bring some funds into this place.

Ogbomosho is a one of the fastest growing agro-community in Nigeria and the clime here is not worse than any other in Nigeria so the question is; why are you not here yet?
