Wrote central bank in respect to this several times and not a single feedback. Am sorry am saying this but they are gradually forcing us to go back to olden days of saving money, because this is scrap and wickedness on the part of the banks .i just wish most times that am not from this nonsense country called Nigeria where stupid things like this happens. Please not banks that do this very well are Gtb,dimondbank ,Firstbank,Accessbank etc thanks I wish the so called central bank of Nigeria can do something about this now thanks |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FL4-4EqZzj4 Nigerians React To 65 Naira Inter-Bank ATM Charge Many Nigerian banks are ripping off customers making withdrawals via Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) by setting low maximum single withdrawal limits to cleverly sidestep the weak Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) policy against excessive charges, SaharaReporters can reveal. |

[s]Nigerian banks are thief's in broad day light .especially First bank and UBA [/s] It is not true. You can't compare first Bank with sky Bank. (Sky bank) Both in services and their ATM are poor. Especially the one at rumuodara junction PH. Their cashies Will live customers and be gisting. Their ATM Time Of operation is from 10am to 6.pm. And maximum withdrawal is #10,000 . op this is so disgusting. |

Nice write-up. However, you must have forgotten that ATMs are not designed for huge cash withdrawals. If you must do transactions of huge amount, then do fund transfer, pay through your card on the merchant's PoS, write a cheque or raise a draft. You just can't be putting pressure on ATMs and be blaming banks. Go cashlite Nigeria!!! That's where the world is already! When SaharaReporters sought clarification from the bank on why its machines have a lower single transaction limit, which means more charges, especially to non-FCMB customers, the bank’s Head of Media Relations, Louis Ibe, said it is a cash management strategy http://saharareporters.com/2018/05/16/how-banks-exploit-cbns-weakness-impose-excessive-charges-atm-users [/quote] |

This fraudulent practices cut across all banks and it is a well-known fact. The mega-fraud going on in some banks, especially branches located in remote places, is the acquisition of point-of-sale (POS) terminals by bank managers. They open shop for marketers and hand over these terminals to them. The managers then stop loading cash into the ATM forcing people to patronize their shops with high interest rate. For example, to withdraw N10,000.00 you need to pay N200.00 cash or so. In a week, the ATM may dispense cash for three days, and sometimes less. This is not a make-up story, visit Igarra, the Akoko-Edo LGA headquarters and some other places. I just wish the CBN and CPC can do something urgent about these practices. 1 Like |

The fact remains that some bankers are not even knowledgeable in the workings of Automated Tellering machines not to talk of CBN staff. It takes someone who understands the technical know how to catch the banks. The CBN cannot boast of staff that understands the thievery done by Nigerian banks. 1 Like |
