MEGHAN MARKLE, PRINCE HARRY MAKE FIRST OFFICIAL APPEARANCE AS NEWLYWEDS
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle makes their first appearance as a married couple three days after tying the knot to celebrate the birthday of Prince Charles.
The newlyweds were pictured at a Buckingham Palace garden party for Prince Charles’ 70th birthday party. Markle, 36, wore a dusty pink dress by the British brand Goat and a matching Philip Treacy dome hat.
At the event, Harry gave a short speech about his father in which he said that the prince’s “enthusiasm and energy are truly infectious.”

GRANDMA WURA GOES ON STAGE FOR CHILDREN’S DAY
Ahead of this year’s Children’s Day celebration, Proud African Roots presents Story-Theatre with Grandma Wura, an adventure of African tales, music and dance performed on stage.
It is a three-day event with nine shows in celebration of Children’s Day holding from May 25 to 27 at the Terra Kulture Arena, Victoria Island, Lagos.
This year’s promises to be most thrilling with the story of ‘Ebi-Bulu’, a musical theatre which story is created by Proud African Roots and written by Charles Nwaokolo. It is directed by Israel Memoriame Wekpe and produced by Bola Edwards.

BARACK AND MICHELLE OBAMA SIGN NEW DEAL WITH NETFLIX
Barack and Michelle Obama have entered into a multi-year agreement with Netflix to produce films and series for the streaming platform.
The former US president and first lady will develop ideas for potential shows on service including, “scripted series, unscripted series, docu-series, documentaries and features”.
This was made known by Netflix on via social media.

The new comedy movie, “Boss of all bosses” has been tipped by movie echelons to dominate the Box office in 2018.
The rib cracking movie laden with visual opulence and high cinematic standard will be released in cinemas across Nigeria from 15th June 2018.
According to Emeka Kachikwu, the film’s producer, “Boss of All Bosses” stands out from the plethora of comical movies that have graced the silver screen.

JANET JACKSON BECOMES FIRST BLACK WOMAN TO RECEIVE BILLBOARD ICON AWARD
Janet Jackson, the queen of the “Rhythm Nation”, made history on Sunday night by becoming the first black woman to receive Billboard Music’s Icon Award.

This honour comes just days after the 25th anniversary of her seminal album “Janet”, along with an appearance on the cover of Billboard Magazine.
First given to Neil Diamond in 2011, the Icon Award is Billboard’s highest honour and recognises artists’ contributions to the industry. But in her acceptance speech, Jackson took a moment to recognize the contributions of the many women who have said #MeToo and spoken out against sexual harassment and abuse.
