OVERVIEW
Nigeria’s palm oil production output is currently 1.3 million metric tonnes (MT), with national demand standing at 2.3 million MT annually.

Currently, 80 percent of demand is met by smallholder farmers. Where large and established firms are only cultivating 400,000 hectares, which are insufficient. Smallholder farmers are doing above 900,000 hectares and the country needs over 2million hectares of commercial palm oil plantations to meet up with the current demand.

STATEMENT OF NEED
There is a need for a crowdfarming solution focused or targeted at funding Smallholder Farmers who account for over 80% of palm oil production in Nigeria.

Palms Of Prosperity is an Oil Palm Outgrowers Scheme For Smallholder Farmers In Nigeria.

The Outgrowers Scheme avails smallholder farmers the opportunity to access free supply of all necessary inputs and finance needed to cultivate oil palms throughout its gestation period with a guaranteed buyback agreement for the palm fruits at every harvest.

OBJECTIVES
1. To raise 150m Hybrid Palm Seedlings
2. To have a 1million Hectares Outgrowers Plantation covering all oil palm producing states
3. To Raise adequate Finance for smallholder farmers
4. To setup centralized modern oil palm mills at strategic locations to the plantations

STARTUP PLAN
The Pilot Phase - Oil Palm Nursery Setup
Location: Ogun State
Duration: One year
Goals:
- Raise initial startup capitals
- Setup a standard oil palm nursery
- Raise 15million palm seedlings
- Train and register farmers as outgrowers
- Organize smallholder farmers into clusters
- Have 100,000 hectares dedicated farmlands for the pilot phase
- Distribute the palm seedlings to participating farmers
