Real Madrid has been dealt the blow of losing Zinedine Zidane because he felt they might battle under him next season.

Zinedine Zidane has explained his shock decision to resign as Real Madrid manager comes down to his doubts over whether or not the club could continue to win titles consistently under his stewardship.

The Frenchman took the football world unexpectedly on Thursday when, at a hastily arranged news conference, he announced he’s leaving the club.

Zidane’s decision comes just 5 days after guiding Madrid to a 3rd successive Champions League title in Kiev by beating Liverpool 3-1 for his ninth trophy since taking charge in January 2016.

The 45-year-old took charge of the club in January 2016 and has enjoyed an unbelievable tenure, however, he was simply not sure they could continue to maintain winning with him at the helm.
