Recently the Nigeria Statistical Association (NSA) in collaboration with National Mathematical Centre (NMC) organized the annual Statistics Competition for tertiary institutions in Nigeria. At the end of the exercise, Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) emerged the most outstanding State University in Nigeria.

University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), was the overall best among the participating tertiary institutions, while the Mr. Itoro Michael led contingent from Akwa Ibom State University earned an institutional score of 157. With that score AKSU emerged 5th overall best University in the country and the Best state-owned varsity........
