Every African family today were deep into pagan worship before the coming of white men and Christianity .Christianity came with a superior God of power and might of the entire universe.So it baffles most Christians why the mighty God of the universe will allow weaker shrines to kill those zealous Christians that goes about burning down shrine due to their love for God .Some even wonder if those shrines are then more powerful than God .Far be it,those shrines are powerless in the face of almighty God.What then went wrong ?.We have to go back to the bible to study how shrines were burnt down in the scriptures.If you study the book of act 19:19,you will see that apostle Paul doesn't go from one magician house to another,forcefully burning their books and shrine.No he didn't do that.He first of all preached Christ to them and demonstrated the power of God to save,deliver and heal.This magicians then gave their life to Christ and of their own accord,submitted their books and shrines to be burn.Christ told us to preach Christ to cities and if the refuse to repent,then move to another city.He didn't tell us to burn down their shrine if the don't accept.If you go ahead and burn down a shrine without first of all winning the soul of the shrine worshippers to Christ ,then the protection of the Lord might not be there to protect you when the evil spirit behind the shrine retaliate.Also we must live a life of continuous prayer,fasting and holiness.For this evil spirits will even wait for years until our vulnerable moment of sin and prayerlessness in order to attack
