Russia's hero, Denis Cheryshev might not have started the match but he was sure the hero Russia needed to hand the host nation an emphatic win against Saudi Arabia.

Cheryshev was left out of the starting eleven but an injury to Russia's star player, Alan Dzagoev early in the first half paved the way for the number 6 to come on.

Even though Russia were leading 1-0 when he came on, it took a moment of brilliance from the Real Madrid man to get the score to 2-0.

But his first goal of the game was nothing compared to his second goal and Russia's fourth goal.

Receiving the ball from outside the box, Cheryshev drove into the box before unleashing an unstoppable, outside-of-the-boot curler, which the Saudi keeper could do nothing about.
