Skillzah Opinion – Slim Case, how long before we stop supporting his case?

If you follow Nigerian Music lately, there is a man undeniably making waves, he’s a big case that has kept the streets awake with bangers. (See what we did there? yeah, don’t sleep on it). Well that’s a major clue right there and you guessed right, that man is the one and only Slimcase.

He burst onto the music scene with a revitalised Energy taking us all by surprise and with alot to show for it. From the street hit “Legbebe” to getting featured on Wizkid and D’banj’s track it’s fair to say Slimcase is having the best One year.

In a tattered industry, Slimcase has somehow managed to create a niche for himself doing it in an unconventional way almost following the blueprint of Artistes like Olamide and Skale mental.
He has an aggressive music style that goes along with his coarse voice and everytime he sings he sounds painful to listen to, almost like listening to a talentless lad screaming over a beat with an auto tuned Mic. He sings for the youth, yes ofcourse but his music can barely identify as “singing” if anything at all. And his lyrics game? It’s like he puts little (or probably no) effort into his lyrics and focuses his energy trying to find that catch phrase that will capture the heart of industry and will be in vogue for a while.
