Brazil have made an official announcement about Neymar after he suffered an ankle injury in the 1-1 draw with Switzerland at the Rostov Arena.

Neymar completed the whole 90minutes but in pain and was unable to complete the team training session on Tuesday.

The Brazil Football Federation have now confirmed that Neymar had ""complained of ankle pains due to the number of fouls suffered against Switzerland,"

But team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar added theforward was expected to resume full training again on Wednesday afternoon.

An official statement read: "Neymar complained of ankle pains, due to the number of fouls suffered against Switzerland.

"As the training was a recovery session, he was referred to physiotherapy. (He will) staythere today and tomorrow morning, (then) training (again) tomorrow afternoon."

The Official FIFA Brazil Twitter Reporter also provided an update on Neymar's condition via the tournament website.

"CBF has spoken officially about the condition of Neymar, having only taken partin about 20 minutes of today's training," the update from @FIFAWorldCupBRA read.

"The forward has been dealing with some discomfort in his right ankle but is expectedto be back to work as normal and on the pitch in Wednesday's session.”

Brazil's next match is against Costa Rica in St Petersburg on Friday.
