I heard d mog Benny Hinn say these words on TBN sometime in april/may this year. Holding a bottle of what i believe is olive oil, he encouraged viewers to place their order right away (about $25) as d oil will make them avoid mistakes in their business this year 2010. I cld hardly believe my ears!
Should mog's/churches be sellling items/materials (oil, handkerchiefs etc) with promise of miracles if used? Are there instances where the 'power' in these items caused miracles? Did Jesus or His disciples sell such items?
Did anyone here watch that prog? pls confirm.

The simple answer to that from a biblical standpoint is NO!

I wouldn't be surprised if there were. But the occurrence or presence of "miracles" and such supernatural phenomena does not mean its a true/proper doctrine or christian practice. remember Jesus' warning about not knowing some fellows who worked miracles in his name.

@ ALL, this only goes to show how far d commercialisation of the gospel has gone. When i heard Benny hinn advertise d sale of that bottle of oil on TBN, i almost wept for d millions of gullible xtians all over d world _{nigerians most esp}who wld definitely fall for it. I've been hearing some not so palatable stories about him but this is d first time i wld hear such directly from him _{i don't listen to his mesages alot though, this was by chance}
 I shared this with someone and she was very vocal in her defence of d 'mog', wondering how dare i question what d 'mog' says. Though she didn't voice it out but her undertone was 'touch not my anointed' which unfortunately is a common refrain among xtians who have refused to SEE & HEAR! They believe in BLIND followership. My reply is, how have u 'touched' d 'annointed' _{assuming he is} by pointing out what u see as erros/unbiblical? Why did Paul commend d Berean brethren for cross-checking every word he said with d scriptures to ensure they were not misled?
 I wld suggest these set of pple shld tell d police not to 'touch' d infamous 'annointed' rev King I bet they wldn't, and why not? cos he's been exposed! There're thousands of 'rev/pst/bishop kings' all around us who hide under d cover of 'touch not my annointed' to perpetuate their  evil  scheme, making money off gullible xtians. Do we have to wait till they kill someone/pple _{like 'most holiness', 'annointed' 'rev' king did} b4 we start talking? _{crying over spilt milk}
 On d other hand, these same set of pple see nothing wrong in 'touching' and condemning d 'mog' TB Joshua (am not saying he is a true man of God or not) just because their GO/pastor does same _{some animals are more equal than others i guess}

um, i know you before? when i say "na today" "where have you been", i'm not asking bout you personally (i dont keep track of sceen names), its just a nigerian way of letting you know these ungodly sales of holy machandises in the name of the lord is not a new; i remember way back in the days as a kid when the late so-called archbishop idahosa was selling pawpaw seeds that cures barreness for a hundred naira each
