Samsung and Apple have been battling it out in courts over alleged patent infringement, but a settlement has been reached between the 2 smartphone giants.

Although the exact details of what this settlement entails are still unclear like how much Samsung is to pay to Apple, the news confirmed by the U.S. District Court for California's Northern District, which means the battle is finally over.

I previously reported the court ruling for the payment of $539 million in damages to Apple, it is still unknown if that exact amount was agreed upon or whether there will be an increase or a decrease in that amount. More details will be posted as they are revealed.

You will recall that the court case started in 2011 when Apple accused Samsung of copying the iPhone's design. Though the court had previously ruled that Samsung actually infringed, the companies had been going back and forth on the lawsuit.
