WhatsApp App is very popular and one of the most used app in the world. Many believed it was created after telegram (a topic for another day). Now we all use WhatsApp for chatting, uploading of statuses etc.

Are our data safe?

This might help you answer that,
The WhatsApp privacy settings was changed, and the new one isn't so good, why so? Phone numbers and chats are being sent back to the parent company which we all know it's Facebook, this we let Facebook run analytics on your activities (E.g chats, etc) and will also let Facebook send you friend requests from people you chat with on WhatsApp (using the people you may know feature), Facebook will also be allowed to run targeted ads to you based on your data.

Thankfully, there is a way to opt out of this. But WhatsApp opt-out period is only 30 days long, so if you don't want your phone number or data shared with Facebook, opt out now before the option ends.
