Reasons Why Jesus Cursed The Fig Three by Fammoboy10(m): 1:34pm On Jul 02, 2018
Seeing that the figs season has not yet come, right in the mind of everyone that has come accros this passage in the scripture is an unclear reason or picture of why Jesus cursed the fig three. However, a brief understanding of what the fig tree really is will enlighten us on why the tree was cursed.

A fig tree is of that class of vegetables in which the fruit is formed in its immature state before the leaves are seen. But as the fruit is of a pulpy nature, the broad, thick leaves come out in profusion to protect it from the rays of the sun during the time it is ripening.

AT MAN’S TIMING
From the illustration above,
One would see that before a fig tree can produce leaves, it will first produce fruits (immature) and as the fruit is reaching mature stage, the leaves will then protrude to prevent it's fruits from suns ray. So, that means when a fig tree is having plenty leaves on it, it is a sign that underneath there are fruits, but the fruits cannot be seen afar not until one is underneath it.

Now let's look into this
Mark 11:12-14 The next day as they were leaving Bethany, Jesus was hungry. Seeing in the distance a fig tree (in leaf) he went to find out if it had any fruit. When he reached it, he found nothing but leaves, because it was not the season for figs. Then he said to the tree, "May no one ever eat fruit from you again." And his disciples heard him say it.

At man’s timing, it is not yet the season for fig, but it has shown leaves meaning that there’s bound to be fruit underneath.

What was Jesus expectation?
That it must have fruits underneath, (he went to find out if it had any fruit, for its fruit cannot be seen afar, since it’s is believed to be under leaves).
Afar off, Jesus expectation was to find fruits on it, but these natures of the fig tree brings about Jesus cursing it;
· Its fruitless nature,
· It's camouflaging ,
· Disappointing,
· Deceiving nature...

Jesus was disappointed,
· He was angry,
· He was teased,
· He was fooled, etc.

The tree can be termed to be a vessel that fails to do the bidding or the work of God.

AT DIVINE TIME
God never operate in man’s timing, Gods time is define. Define time is therefore a time that breaks any protocol. In other words, Gods visitation can come at any point in time, whether summer, or in winter, morning, noon or night.
“It was not the time of fig” suggests that Fig tree can be said to be a tree whose divine time has come to produce fruits, but it fails to do so. It looks promising, and resourceful but without the expected performance, most especially, it was without fruits.
At define time, the tree still possess the nature of the tree in Man’s time, why? It was supposed to bear fruits before leaves, a thing it did otherwise. It deceives, disappoint, camouflage, most of all, bears no fruit. One major thing is inherent, it bears no fruit.

For instance; see this
Mark 11:1-6 As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage and Bethany at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples, saying to them, "Go to the village ahead of you, and just as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks you, 'Why are you doing this?' say, 'The Lord needs it and will send it back here shortly.'" They went and found a colt outside in the street, tied at a doorway. As they untied it, some people standing there asked, "What are you doing, untying that colt?" They answered as Jesus had told them to, and the people let them go...

Above is a vessel (donkey) whose define time has come, and it utilize the time by doing the bidding or work of God, (bearing fruits I meant).
There are lots to learn from the story;
It applies to Christians that are not producing fruits, those inwhich in appearance one would think they do, rather, they are camouflaging, deceiving and disappointing Christians,

See this:
Revelation 3:1 "And to the angel of the church in Sardis write, these things say He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead.

Conclusively, the tree represents a believer who has been given much and much is also expected from him /her. This implies that at any time Jesus can visit one’s life and He must find fruits on it. A believer must therefore be ready at any point in time for the master’s visitation.
