It might just be the world's cushiest job.

The South Atlantic island of St Helena wants a senior immigration officer to oversee the arrival of the one plane a week that usually lands at its shiny new airport.

But the successful candidate for the £50,000-a-year post need not worry about becoming bored or lonely on the isolated island.

According to the job advert, the British overseas territory is a 'sub-tropical island of spectacular and beautiful landscapes' with a 'warm and friendly population of 4,500'.

It receives just one regular weekly commercial flight from South Africa, although more are planned, at what has been dubbed the 'world's most useless airport'.

It cost the British taxpayer £300 million and opened last year after being beset by problems, including the strong winds that prevent planes with a capacity of more than 70 passengers landing.

Wanted to visit this place (or St Lucia) on vacation but those complicated flights discouraged me.

I checked then on wakanow.com but i found out it was difficult finding an available date and i would have to pay higher than the destination i eventually chose.

I was just intrigued because i learnt it was listed as an African territory.

explorers you are doing a great job here and so many folks do not read or even care to know about things like this but are quick to tell you which celebrity is dating the other. It is no doubt that we have so many dumb and unaware folks out there.
