This is politics at its best; the more you look the less you see. You guys should all go and prepare for POST UME but those that scored below 180 should start preparing for the next JAMB.

they didn't supply any more info about it, they just put the general cut-off mark to be 180 and that really and obviously does not satisfy our curiousity

What the poster is actually saying is 180 is the minimum cut off for the exam. That means u will have to score 180 to get admission even in college of education. If u score below 180, u dont have to say " I have hope for college of education". Universities have their own cut off.

Pls dont get it wrong,180 has been set as cutoff mark 4 all categories of institution. They are trying 2 unitify all schs be it uni,poly or c.o.ed. But then i know schools like unilag,oau,ui,unn may use 200

you guys are confused over this issue. If the minister actually said that 180 is the cut off mark for this year's UTME,
what it means is that 180 is the cut off mark for the post unified tertiary matriculation examination (post utme).

What this means is that, those who score from 180 and above have qualify to sit for the post unified tertiary matriculation examination (post utme).

After the post unified tertiary matriculation examination (post utme), those again who will reach the cut off mark of the post unified tertiary matriculation examination (post utme), will be offered provisional admission.

Are you serious? Mhen, i guess there's still hope for those who didn't make it up to 200. Anyway, I trust that schools will still find a way to reduce the population of admitted students. So they had better not relent in their efforts. I wish all the best.

That the utme required score is 180 is a mere phrase. To add a finite verb to it is to tell us whether there is actually going to be post utme or NOT!

NO self respecting university will accept ''below average'' students(that's assuming the total is still 400)
I think this whole thing is just a way to water down the already wrecked quality of education and by extension produce 1/10 baked graduates( we were complaining of half-baked before no?)
I'll just advise candidates to try and score as high as possible and ignore this mediocrity encouraging score, ultimately, competition will determine the cut off for each score depending on the school.
