The Immune System of the body is the resistance force of the body, so it’s normal to think that it’s the best thing that happened to the human system in a world filled with many diseases.

Well, you are right and you are not. Contrary to the popular belief that the the body is a complicated network of functions, the body is actually like a community of people doing mundane activities. Every part of a cell does one thing a certain way throughout its existence.

The white blood cells are the body’s immune system, its work is, attack anything unrecognizable, anything wandering where it wasn’t program to be, hence the following problems I am about to highlight.

Sterility

Shocked! I was too. This is peculiar to the males, as their fertility status can be so fragile. In medicine there is a barrier called Blood-Testes barrier, that prevents semen from entering into the bloodstream and vice versa, (note that this barrier cannot be a brick fence), effective but fragile. If either of the aforementioned happens, kiss your offspring goodbye.

How does this happen? The white blood cells see the semen, and kill it, hence, sterility.

Allergies

Allergies are caused also by the immune system, first time the person comes in contact with the substance he or she is allergic to, the white blood cells create antibodies to fight it. So, the next time the person comes in contact with that non harmful substance, the anti bodies fight it and physical manifestations are seen, for example, sneezing, rash.etc.

Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)

Here is a disease that is targeted at the immune system directly, two questions, why is it not fighting it’s direct enemy and why can’t it see the virus? One answer, the virus disguises itself as white blood cells. So they see it as one of them and find no need to fight itself while the virus replicates as it kills off the white blood cells.

Like they say, there’s no such thing as a perfect system, there is only so much you can do.
