The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) Uyo and District Society, on Tuesday 17th of July 2018, paid a courtesy visit to the Management of Akwa Ibom State University.

In his presentation, Mr. Eteyen Ikpong fca who is the Chairman of Uyo chapter and also the Secretary of the Southern Zone of ICAN, appreciated the Governnor Udom Emmanuel fca, for undertaking to sponsor indigenes of Akwa Ibom State that emerge with First class in the Accounting profession. The Chairman further informed the University that ICAN gives out various awards to outstanding Accounting students across the country.

The ICAN delegation went further to discuss the need to accredit Akwa Ibom State University, so that when her students graduate from the department of Accounting, they can continue their ICAN certification, not from the beginners level, but from the skilled level.
