Hello,

Google Webmaster Tools is complaining that my website has too many duplicate title tags (over 4,000). The duplicates it references are mostly the individual topic pages from my phpbb message board.

I have two questions:
1. In terms of SEO, does it matter that Google says I have too many duplicate title tags? Will Google slap my site with a penalty (or sites linking to the message board)?
2. If it does matter, how do I change or remedy the situation?

Please help.
