There are certain lessons we were taught as kids and somehow, as we grew up and life became ‘more real’, those lessons faded into the background as though they didn’t hold importance anymore.
However, they are life lessons that you should always hold on to. Are you ready?
1. What is most important is what is inside
These words have found their true meaning now that everything is artificial, from butts to breasts and lashes. Yet, this is not all that there is to these words; it is not just about whether you look fake or not. It is just as important that when you meet people, you don’t measure them by material things. Seek to know who they truly are and the value hidden in them.

2. Re-sharpening is constant
The Good Book says that iron sharpens iron but have you ever stopped to wonder what it feels like for the iron? That’s right! It will definitely be painful. Likewise, you may have to go through painful periods just so you can become more useful.

3. You will make mistakes
Mistakes are inevitable so don’t be in a hurry to say, “God forbid” when you are told that you will make them. All you should do is to pray that they don’t cost you too much and that you are able to learn from them. Mistakes are learning opportunities.

4. Always leave a mark
When you use sharpened iron, it always leaves a mark. Thus, it does not matter how long you spend at a place, whether it is a new job, school or neighborhood, make sure you leave a mark so that people feel when your impact even when you are not there.
These seem like soppy life lessons to you? They are worth remembering all the same.
