need 2 hop on this 3d max thing0 does rendering really take that long? (4 hours?) |
Re: My 3ds Max Renders (beginner) by ugo2u(m): 10:19pm On Jul 27, 2010 |
actually its the design that took 4hours, rendering took roughly 1.5seconds. but if you are rendering a whole movie plus a lot of items then it may take that long |

klkl i got a lappy with terrible ram ( like 1 gig or sumn) nd run 3d max on it slow as hell. . .but i manage to draw a few lines nd extrude everynow nd then but run away when i dont know what else to do where do you reckon i go from here? |
Re: My 3ds Max Renders (beginner) by ugo2u(m): 9:04pm On Jul 28, 2010 |
the important thing is the graphic card, a 1gig ram with a nividia gf card of 512mb can run 3ds max 2009 pretty decently for your low poly or medium poly models. which version do you use? if its 2010 version then your computer will find it difficult to work with |

Has anyone tried using Blender? I'm trying to wean myself off pirated software (I'm born-again now) and I don't have money for a legit 3DS Max license. Besides, I hear Blender has much lower system requirements. |
Re: My 3ds Max Renders (beginner) by ugo2u(m): 9:05pm On Aug 03, 2010 |
yeah, its a good idea to do that, but blender is like its name a blender of headaches, I suggest getting 3ds max demo it runs for 30 days, after that format your system and install the demo again (12 formats in a yeah). blender is free but you pay dearly because the interface is wack |

ugo_2u: Blender 2.5 Beta has a completely new U.I. I haven't tried it yet but it's supposed to be a big improvement. And I can't format my system once a month, its just too much stress. |
