Renowned goalkeepers, past and present, have shown their support to Nigerian goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme following his early retirement from football.

Ikeme, today, announced his retirement from football following advice from his doctors to do so.

The shot stopper has been battling with acute leukaemia since July 2017 but last month, he announced that he was in remission.

Different goalkeepers under the goalkeeper union have shown their solidarity with their fellow shot-stopper.

Among them are Arsenal's Petr Cech, Man City's Joe Hart, Iker Casillas, Manchester United legend, Peter Schmeichel and his son, Kasper Schmeichel (of Leicester city) among others.
