I need advice on choosing between a 2009 Toyota Matrix or 2009 Mazda 3, which should i go. my budget can buy any of them and my road network is pretty okay

Mazda3 with a bigger engine if it is the hatch back get it now, the Mazda will be cheaper less likely to be stolen

If you want something more economical go for the Matrix, it doesn't consume fuel, it's parts are all over Nigeria

You have to be very explicit.... stereotyping a brand is quite unacceptable

All of them for all sorts of issues. Engine, electrical, window and door motors and ac especially come to mind. Plus the fit and finish are terrible. A few years and it's like the whole vehicle gets "loose". I'm not sure if you get what I mean.

Plus when I sold cars for Toyota and Chrysler, they were the "bad credit car" in the used car lot. The dealerships would get them for pennies because no one wanted them and then sell them to people with bad credit who couldn't buy anything else with high markup and sky-high interest. The icing on the cake for the dealership was they knew they'd also get repair money from the customers down the line so win all around for them.

Hence my aversion but I will say I've never heard of the cricket. Maybe they did well with that one.

Shame too because their design department doesn't do a bad job on looks.

One if the hardest things for me have been getting used to the Naija names for things. Both cars and parts. Took me over an hour the other day to figure out what someone was asking me when they asked for 'cup and shaft'!

I really can't get you all the information I see but you Google 2009 matrix vs 2009 Mazda 3 and read from users not hearsays compare price and see if the extra cost of the Toyota is worth it, if the Mazda is in good shape you can still bargain lower because the seller bought it cheaper
