Hi all,

I was just wondering if anyone has been successful finding friends/companions in church.  I am not looking for a husband as I don't feel I am ready to take that step and am just working on myself.  I don't want anything serious even though I make this known to guys and they get upset or don't understand.  I would like to know if it is possible.  Although I am not a devout member of any church as of yet, I am visiting my aunt and will be attending her church while I'm here in TX and would like to know if this is possible without seeming like I am looking for a boyfriend. Although I have female friends, I enjoy the company of guys and long for someone to be closer to and who knows what else.

P.S. I say the church because I am staying with my aunt and her fam. and the only places I've been since I've landed was her church and prayer meetings so I won't be getting out much while I am here. Also I am under 30 years old, although I'm not sure if this matters.

I am not too sure in the Nigerian churches in Tx 'cause the size are relatively small and everybody knows everybody. Well, u might extend your search to birthday parties, wedding ceremonies, naming ceremony which is quite common in Texas

Perhaps if I decide to live in Texas after this trip maybe that is what I will end up doing because I've noticed my auntie's church members are kind of cliquish although they are nice people.

My sole purpose when I am at church is to pray but while I am down here since this is the only real place I've been to meet people I was wondering if it was possible to meet anyone. So far I think not.
