Fc Basel have named ex-Austrian coach Marcel Koller as the clubs new manager after its shocking exit from the champion league qualifying round.
Marcel Koller will be assisted by Thomas Janeschitz and Carlos Bernegger.

Marcel Koller was former Austria's head coach from November 2011 to October 2017, leading them from 72nd in the FIFA standings into the top 10 and Euro 2016 in France. But the Austria team failed to qualify for this year's 2018 World Cup in Russia.

He has also coached Saint-Gallen (from 1999-2000) and Grasshopper (from 2002/2003) in the Swiss top division league, as well as FC Cologne and VfL Bochum in the German Bundesliga.

Basel was humiliated with a 3-0 home defeat by PAOK to exit on a 5-1 aggregate in the second qualifying round of the Champions League.
