Everyone wants to stay young for as long as possible. Here are a few ways to accomplish that.
The steps listed below are mostly clichés and you have probably heard them many times before. But that does not diminish their relevance or usefulness to you.
In order to stay young, involve yourself in a greater percentage of the following:
1. Learn One New Thing
2. Forgive The Past
3. Look After Your Health
4. Go On A Road Trip
5. Indulge Yourself
6. Give Back
7. Read A Book
8. Take Your Children Out
9. Get Some 'Me Time'
10. Switch It Up

Learn One New Thing
Take up something new to keep yourself excited and your brain active. Try something that you do not ordinarily gravitate towards. You could learn how to knit or how to sew. You could learn to bake, make pottery or draw.

A dance class works as an exhilarating past-time as well as a good exercise routine. A guitar (or any other musical instrument) lesson can be time well spent. Or consider learning one of the lesser known languages or even taking up coding. Coding lessons can be instructive and enriching at the same time, as this grandmother found when she taught herself to code. Waking up with a sense of purpose keeps the energy going and you'll think younger, feel younger and actually look younger.

Forgive the Past
Some mistakes are worse than others and truth be told, everyone has made one or plenty. Forgive your past mistakes, pray that others forgive you too, then move on.
And if you have forgiven others of their betrayals, stop dwelling on them. Leave it all behind and work on making the present better.

Look After Your Health
As we grow older, we settle into a routine of home to work and work to home. We have no consideration for the body we inhabit and from which we daily make over-reaching demands.
Exercise to stay healthy and youthful. Value your health, eat beneficial food items and seek help early if your health starts to fail.

Go On A Road Trip
How does a week of journeying to all the places you've ever stepped foot on sound? It sounds good to us too.
You can take a trip to your alma mater and get goose bumps as you stand under a tree and imagine your freshman self coming down the walkway to class or going up to lunch.

You can re-visit the water fall that you and your friends went to on a weekend getaway or rekindle your excitement on seeing some local artifact at a museum.

Indulge Yourself
Hearing of a death, especially of someone in the prime of life, sends this usually modest woman on an all-out, break-the-records, crazed shopping and dining spree because she figures that after all is said and done, there is no taking any of the penny she's been pinching to the other side.
While we don't recommend breaking the bank, a treat or two, once in a while, will go a long way in keeping us happy and young.

Give Back
There's a sense of happiness and fulfillment that comes when you help someone out. And if you do not have the money to give, you can volunteer once or twice a week at a nearby orphanage. It will surprise you how much your sweeping, laundering of clothes, going to the market, tutoring the kids, will be valued.
Sponsoring an orphan through school will serve the dual purpose of helping as well as setting a good example for your wards to follow.
If you look around your community, it is very likely that you will discover other avenues of giving back.

Read A Book
Read something; read a geography text and learn (or frighten yourself) about the depleting ozone layer, if you want.
Read Chaucer, read War and Peace, read Bonfire of the Vanities. You can even read Mad Magazine. Or you can dust off your old Mills & Boon and James Hadley Chase and kindle some nostalgia.
Whatever you do, read something.

Take Your Children/Wards Out
It doesn't matter if they are adults now. Take them to the cinema. Take them to the park. Go to a book fair, join them in a boat ride at the lake, have some ice-cream cake with them.
You will receive some vicarious youthfulness as you watch their unadulterated joy at the treats they are getting,

Get Some 'Me' Time
Date night doesn't have to be with a partner. Make a date with yourself to spend time with yourself. Unwind and forget concerns for the moment. Find your happy place.

Switch It Up
Nothing says old, like the same things over and over; the same cloths, the same make-up, the same furniture.
Switch things up from time to time. If you don't have the money to buy new furniture you can rearrange the one you have.
Paint the room you use often in a different colour if possible. Un-clutter the room, change the curtains, etc.
