The thinking behind this statement is one of the reasons politicians take the people for a ride.

Instead of littering everywhere with pieces of papers (tickets), I will suggest they introduce a card like it's done in the UK (The Oyster Card).

Each resident of Abuja and its environs who would be making use of the train are to buy the card and credit it with say N2k upwards (allows for a top up)
Just provide a scanner that allows one access into the train where they would be made to scan and the corresponding charge would be deducted before boarding.

This would reduce incedences of cashiers being tempted to steal money
queuing up for tickets, and
enhance easy account reconciliation and auditing

This is the problem, do you rather prefer the project be abandoned by Buhari administration and let it waist away? Moreover its not even Jonathan's Administration that started it, it was Obasanjo as part of bid for Abuja to host the 2014 commonwealth games. The project ground laying ceremony was on 27th May 2007, and it has been there wasting away, so you see, it too Nigeria 11years to finish her metro station because of mentality like yours!!!!

Not too bad IMHO. The cost far outweigh the risk of plying Abuja-kaduna road with the incessant killings, kidnappings and accidents occurring on that route of recent. How much is #1000 knowing you will get to your destination in one piece and on time. Even the commercial drivers have increased their fare to almost 1000 or 1500
